The BIP consists of a course that is included in the core curriculum of the “Management and Leadership”-programme at AUB. The course will be held during the winter-term 2025 by Prof. Stefan Eckert (TU Dresden/ IHI Zittau) and consists of an online lecture of 2 contact hours per week and a subsequent face-to-face seminar at the AUB of approximately 2 contact hours per week.
During the face-to-face seminar at the AUB, students apply the content covered in the lecture independently in the context of case studies. Due to the international composition of the student body (students participate form universities in Germany, Czech Republic and Hungary), questions of intercultural management in particular can also be dealt with and experienced.
Qualification goals: Students are familiar with the specific challenges of managing international companies. They are familiar with the relevant instruments and methods for dealing with these problems. Students will have an overview of current research issues in the field of managing international companies.
The module includes:
a) coordination instruments,
b) integration and coordination in international business activities,
c) international strategies in the field of tension between localization and globalization,
d) internationalization processes as management challenges.
The teaching language is English.
The module examination consists of a written examination in English lasting 90 minutes. A presentation of a scientific case study in English is a prerequisite for the examination. As part of the module, students receive at least 3 ECTS.
